Getting vaguely back on to the subject of roundabouts I was on my way back from work earlier this week when I saw a sign on a one saying it had been sponsored by a local company? Why on earth would someone want to sponsor a roundabout? Are you expecting it to bungee jump for cancer reseach or something?  noooo:

That's right ~ tell her she can't get on the bus before 09.30 and she must keep out of M&S at lunchtimes 'cos Wenchy wants a sandwich.

Common practice. Companies sponsor the roundabouts thus getting their names seen by everyone who passes and the local council have someone else paying for the upkeep, planting etc that makes the roundabout pleasanter than a concrete donut.

Given the mess that the contractors the water board hired made of the bleedin thing it needs all the help it could get.
