Supreme commander is ok but l rate C&C 3 or Company of Heroes more.

You're right of course... but the link to Total Annihilation would have persuaded me anyway...

Strangely, i tried to order it on-line and download it from two different sites - once at $19 and from a UK site at £12. both refused (after filling in dozens of boxes of course) because the location was 'restricted' then I found it on Amazon for £2.50. Result!

For £2.50 you are forgiven .... Your op (quoted below) puts a very different spin on it.

I used to play Total Annihilation at work which is a war/death/kill strategy game…

It is a bit long in the tooth now tho and I haven’t played it for years. I discovered the other day that Supreme Commander is its ‘spiritual successor’ so I’ve ordered a copy from Amazon for 32.50 plus shipping

The graphics and everything look quite cool and I’m looking forward to playing it – I figures if anybody else played we could compete on-line and have a pub league or pub team (not Wenchy or the other girls obviously).

It would soon be followed by a no pets sign whistle:

My dad's a major strategy game player and has been since he used to kick my arse playing Rebelstar on the speccy back in the day

eeek:  My Father used to play chess with me ~ You know, with a wooden board and pieces that you had to pick up between your finger and thumb and move them around the board. Sometimes we played Cribbage with real playing cards.

Still do with my daughter ~ she's a dab hand at crib but has yet to beat me at chess. My son on the other hand, I have trouble prising him away from the computer.
