The Curious Case of Benjamin Button  noooo: noooo: noooo: noooo:

GM style review - long boring film that takes forever to go nowhere. Main characters are dull and although some of the visuals are quite intriguing this is not a classic  noooo:

Don't bother

Watched this last night  happy088

Set in postwar Germany and tells the story of a man whose life has been shaped by an illicit affair when he was 15 !!!!!  -  with a passionate, elusive older woman   eyes: . She however turns out to some dark secrets . I won't give too much away.

Lots of nakedness and shagging in first half of film - all essential to the plot of course  lol:

What she said!  eeek:

Watched it last night - awesome movie with loads of shagging like...

Excellent performances by Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes and David Kross who plays the young Ralph Fiennes and bizarely gets no credit on the DVD...  noooo: Mind you, he gets to play with Kate Winslet's tits so perhaps that was reward enough...  rubschin:

Anyhoo... Highly recommended by me and her.  happy088

PS I watched it on Blu-Ray - the picture was absolutely stunning....  cloud9:

Watched the film  Doubt today

Not bad at all - drama set a year in 1964. A character movie with some great performances - no shagging.

Essentially Doubt tells the story of Sister Aloysius (Streep) who suspects that her school’s priest (Hoffman) has been molesting a male student. She is very much of the old school philosophy of teaching / religion whilst Hoffman represents a threat to her on many levels. She appears bitter , twisted and fierce but is very sure of her convictions and pursues her suspicions without any real evidence - just her gut feeling that she is right.

Some of the cinematography is gorgeous - although some  scenes look as if they are preparing you for a horror flick.

Hoffman really is excellent ( as ever)  and the performances of the the boys mother is brilliant and unexpected.

The nice people at Lovefilm have sent us this and we shall watch it and report back.  happy088

Red Cliff

John Woo returns to form they say and I'd agree. Western version clocks in at 2.5 hours  eeek:, the Chinese release was over 4 hours and released as Pts 1 & 2.  eeek: eeek:
Spectacular, awesome, inspirational stuff; Chinese historical epic, less poetic than Ang Lee's stuff but action packed. One for the big screen ~ only just released.
