That constitutes some sort of achievement these days. I have never stuck one job for more than 5 years.

Are congratulations in order? Are they giving you a watch?

1973. Blimey.I was backpacking around Europe on my gap year. Happy days. And worryingly long ago! eeek:
I was 13...  redface:

As was I. I've been with my company since 1977.  eeek:
Blimey… I’ve never stayed with a business for more than a few years apart from my own which I ran for fifteen…  noooo:

Well don't blame me .... unless your mother was a WAAF or lived in the Swindon area about nine months before she had you....... in which case I demand a retest of any DNA you may have garnered from the kennel.

PS So was my eldest son actually.

No, I believe my mother was a receptionist at the Grosvenor hotel at the time. I don't think she ever visited Swindon - and to be honest - why would you want to?  ;D

Why would you want to visit Swindon? Well for me to punch the registrar who performed the ceremony that tied me to Mrs S#1 ..... and the only reason we were there at all is because HM Gov (In the form of the MOD) sent us there. You may have noticed that RAF Lyneham is just up the road.
It is not a place that I have ever gone or will ever go through free choice.

I'm back! a superb steak at Gauchos, good wine and a cheesecake dessert to die for.

Plenty to reminisce about, three of my companions had been at the the company 20 plus years each, the only short timer being my current boss who's only been here a year or so. Still, give him time.

To be honest I can't see myself being here much longer though, money's good but there's more to life than that. Just so that I can give my children a good start, that would be enough.

Good for you Unc ~ a real old fashioned city lunch ... thought they were a thing of the past. Now toddle off home. It's the only way to end a perfect day.

Well done Uncle Mort - I applaud your long service !

In 1978 I was 18 and hadn't even envisaged meeting my 'toy boy' Baldymort - if only I'd know what was ahead  eeek:
