Waltham Forest Pride: Police probe 'homophobic abuse' video

Voicing your honestly held opinion is a "hate crime"  noooo:   As the saying goes, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me"

LGBT+ people need to man up.

"F**k off letterbox" would be a better retort.   ;)

And the police need not get involved. No wonder we need another 20,000 officers.

I do of course agree with you in principle...

But oh, isn't it wonderful when two protected groups come up against each other! happy001

There's always a threshold where it goes too far

Was the woman trying to incite others to hate?  Yes.  Was it above the threshold for criminality?  Not imho as I find those pride Marches an annoying fuckwittery inviting comments they hope will be positive but might not be.  We don't know all the facts of this case and I suggest the police are trying to find out all that she shouted.  If she incited violence or hate against people not on the march then it becomes a different matter

Well, whatever, nevermind

No she wasn't trying to incite anyone. She was just voicing her religiously held opinion. I refuse to see that as a crime even though I don't agree with her.

I take your point uncle. Miss I  cloud9:  is bisexual. If she had been on a march (which she wouldn't) and was yelled at like that I would have been outraged. If you live in a pluralist society then it is OK for you to be moslem in whatever garb you choose and OK to celebrate your sexuality, should you choose to do so.

Police matter? More a case for a stand up argument I think.

She was voicing her views for others to hear but yes I agree she may have been an offensive mindless cow but she wasn't inciting nor quite guilty of a section 4a offence

But the police had to check
Well, whatever, nevermind

Section 4A Public Order Act

"You have intended to cause another person harassment, alarm, or distress, You have used threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour, and your actions have caused another person to feel harassed, alarmed, or distressed."

 noooo:

I've been both a recipient and an instigator of this "offence" during my working life. Get a fucking backbone people.

That's not quite the actual wording https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1986/64

"Get a fucking backbone people" sounds a bit like take the law into your own hands  noooo:

The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.
