Nod needs to get out more. I have had three days at a lovely lock (Stoke Bardolph on the river Trent) with picnic tables and deckchairs and suchlike. I suggested he visit.

Friday: Not going to make it. Mum is having a wobble
Saturday. New bed is arriving Monday and someone is coming around to smash up and remove the old one
Sunday: I have booked a taxi!!

Unfortunately, he gave the taxi the wrong location and was transported to Stoke on Trent at enormous expense and was then taken home again. 

I think 90 squid

Nod's mother is very sick and also increasingly loopy (she currently believes she is 14) 

Macmillan nurse visited Nod this morning and announced they had found her a place in a hospice and that she would be going there TODAY and not ever going home.  Nod thinks this is good news.

I asked him if his mother knew of this arrangement. NO.

I suggested that this could get a bit violent and shouty. I have not heard from him since

Must be  bit of  relief though for Nod; knowing at least that his mum is in good hands.

Nod has been rubbing his hands together about the auctioneer's valuation of his mum's collection of 18th century ceramics and some of her furniture.

He called the auctioneer today to see when the sale could go ahead.

All auction houses shut for the foreseeable future under Tier 3 restrictions
