Nurse did say summat about having the whole inside of my bladder scraped and I turned my ears off 

The whole inside? Did they just say bladder scraping or did they mention Transurethral resection. Generally scraping is to either get a tissue sample or remove suspect cells.

Sounds about right given that you will either be under a general or spinal anesthetic for the procedure.
