Am I missing something?

I would have thought that the "Windrush" generation would have applied for British citizenship 50 odd years ago  rubschin:

Did your parents apply for British citizenship for you?  Mine didn't for me, everyone just believed me when it ever came up incl getting that first passport.  But then I'm white
