I grew up watching Ray Harryhausen films; much better.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Harryhausen films as well but the cheesiness of the Godzilla/Mothra/whatever the hell the turtle was called movies always appealed to me.
Some days I think the only thing keeping me from becoming homicidal is that the voices can't agree on which weapon would be the most fun.

MI6 Fallout

Could be the best yet of the Mission Impossible franchise.  Even if you don't like Cruise the film just works all the way through.  Pacey, witty, very good action and a fair old yarn of a plot.  Cruise is as ever just right for that role and the supporting cast esp Cavill, Pegg, Kirby and Rhames excellent as well

If you only want cerebral films it's not for you, otherwise go see

Was curious about this film when it was first announced, right up to the point where I found out that they had got rid of Henry Coxwell (a record breaking balloonist at the time who was on the actual balloon flight with Glaisher and was instrumental in averting a catastrophe mid flight by releasing a trapped valve when the balloon ascended so high up that they began to pass out) and replaced him with some random female character instead.

I'm starting to think they should have an irony category in the Oscars for films like this...

Maybe worth looking at the Rotten Tomatoes ratings.  Meg 48% approval, MI-6 97%   (Adrift 78%)

I've got 2 free tickets so it's just a case of which one plays first when I have a day off. May make it a double bill  rubschin:

Chris Pine as Robert the Bruce...  rubschin:

Looks like a better casting choice then Mel Gibson as William Wallace...  whistle:

I wonder just how far off the mark this article will end up being...  lol:

https://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-entertainment/things-theyre-going-to-bollocks-up-in-star-wars-episode-ix-20180830176816

"Episode IX will feature Flimso Bampot, a Rebel pilot whose species suffers from constant noisy flatulence and looks like Jimmy Savile."

Still on the subject of Star Wars, there is a fan re-edit of the godawful mess that was Episode 8 in the works and if the trailer is anything to go by then it's going to be a better piece of work than the original (then again that isn't really shooting for the sky).
