And you do know what the Tories promised in their 2010 manifesto don't you?

Quote from: 2010 Tory Manifesto
We will increase spending on health in real terms every year and honour our commitments on international aid, but our plan to get a grip on the deficit will include cuts to wasteful spending in many other departmental budgets.

Anyway are you really saying it's somehow good to make a promise and then just decide later it'll be OK to break it because now it seems a little awkward?

Well, whatever, nevermind

Really?

I'd consider it acting like a complete shit.  Anyway just how would you do in your business if you were known for making a promise and then reneging on it just because you couldn't be arsed anymore?    So how do you think the UK that depends on international financial trading would do if it had the reputation for just abandoning promises on a whim?  Utterly fucked is the answer.

The promise the UK government did not and should not make is to make every child's life just ticketyboo just so there's never even a chance that charity might have a part.

Well, whatever, nevermind

I'm sure that you will tell me I'm wrong, but did you just infer that we should keep children in poverty just to give the charities something to do?

I'm amazed!  eeek:

This is like somebody going down the pub every weekend and buying drinks for everybody because he is raking it in at work...

...and continuing to do it after he has been made redundant - even tho he cannot feed his own kids in order to do so... ::)

Still, at least they won't think he is a complete shit down the pub eh?  lol:

Amazing!! The key to survival in government and business (or even life in general for that matter) is to be able to adapt to changing conditions rapidly. The world's finances have changed dramatically since 2008 and this must be taken into account.

No and cannot see how you could construe that from my post.

In my humble opinion it is exactly like it!

The country has no money - yet we should keep our overseas aid promises 'in case we look like a total shit'...?

Not promises of food or warm clothing for those in need that have none - windy millers!  noooo:

So the country is borrowing money - trillions - to build windy millers in Africa while charities beg for a few millions to help the needy in the UK?

It is just like the father taking out a payday loan to treat his mates down the pub while his kids starve...  ::)

Yes please JOM - I will have that pint....  Thumbs:
