The Gubberment's "Skills Strategy"
« on: September 30, 2013, 04:21:51 PM »
As we all know the Gubberment is very keen on skills. Training the young and the unemployed is vital to make us a "world class" economy (which is why they have abolished the careers service and work experience for schoolkids, but anyhoo).

Vince Cables brainboxes decreed that people wanting to go to college to train or retrain after the age of 24 (single mothers, wimmin in general, the unemployed and so on) now have to pay for their courses (about £4000 a year) by taking out loans.

They said that 25000 people would do this during the current year   Excellent

Take up so far?

Its just a rehash of the great education con. Get as many people as possible into courses and off the dole to massage the figures. The only change this time around is that they have to fork out for the 'privilege'. I'm not saying that all courses are useless but there are a decent number of them with little or no application in the real world outside of a very narrow band.
The universe is run by the complex interweaving of three elements. Energy, matter, and enlightened self-interest.

Did we not contribute to this out of Taxes?   I take it we will all be getting a substantial refund next April then.   rubschin:
