Blimey, the most intellectual funeral I have ever been to!! Felt like I ought to be taking notes!!

SIX funeral orators from Oxford, Harvard, Marseilles, Paris, Nottingham and London. Music by Jacques Brel and Leonard Cohen. AN H0UR AND THREE QUARTERS!!

When the sixth one started off with "I would like to start this in 1965..." I nearly lost the will to live.

Club and buffet predictably posh (knee deep carpets and many chandeliers) and the buffet?

"Chargrilled polenta with a beetroot jus" gives you the idea

None at all. Everyone there seemed to have academic credentials as long as your arm.  All the chit chat was about "Do you remember that marvellous conference in Kuala Lumpur about the cultural impact of Sartre on European Existentialism?" or "I am so pleased Nick managed to finish his Magnum Opus on Marseilles before his demise"
