So when will you be posting from the Raspberry?
Perhaps I am....
Maybe but I doubt it
I'm trying to figure out if Raspberries are an amazingly stimulating educational experience or next months Cupboardware or summat else
I'm open minded but I'm also old enough to remember all those ZX81 folk and all the Cupboardware they bought and insisted on talking about
If you dig back far enough you'll find this is an ongoing "project" that I toyed with for the boys but due to delivery problems I never got two raspberries when they first came out. like you I suspect that they may well end up as a five minute wonder in this house where even the best laptops seem not to be sufficient for the boys' needs.
If it does what it says on the tin (and so far it does)...
... it gives me a cheap (£30) PC with HD video (I'm connected via HDMI to a TV/Monitor) which can web browse, stream video from my file server and watch live TV using FilmOn...
What is there not to like...
Conversely, the ZX81 (I had an '80) cam out at a time when we all wanted 'a computer' but didn't really know what we wanted it for...
... and fresh from the box the ZX80 and 81 actually did very little...
