Things that cannot be eaten in public
« on: March 06, 2010, 01:00:54 PM »
Having been out to the shops this morning I was waiting patiently for the bus to return home.

It was taking a while and there was some poor woman there who was obviously unable to wait until she got home so went rummaging in her bag and pulled out a cake.

Now some cakes are fine to eat in public but this was some kind of cream slice  noooo:

The inevitable happens, she clamps down on it and the cream squidges out from either side. So she tries to save some of it from dropping and is then contorting her face at 90 degree angles to the cake.

End result - mess everywhere.

Cream slices should never be eaten in public - no matter how urgent the need  noooo:

At the Swiss Cottage finishing school that I went to public grazing wasn't discouraged  lol:

In fact having a bag of chips on the way home from a drunken night was obligatory  whistle:

However a cream slice is such an indulgent treat. A messy , scrumptious, slice of total gorgeousness, that should not be eaten in company ever . Even if you are at home.

Full concentration needs to be given to preserving every last morsel of pastry and oz of cream. In which case you really shouldn't be trying to preserve your dignity in front of others as well  lol:

Nah ~ I'm still anti grazing in public. Ex Missus used to like a bag o' chips ont' way home but she came from Yorkshire where such things are almost obligatory. Coming from deepest Hampshire I just hate the concept. My Mother would not even eat an ice cream in public.

As for oozing cream cakes ~ like Mangoes ~ they should be eaten whilst naked, in a bath, with or without an accomplice.

Does that include cheese that has been left on the radiator?  whistle:
