P'raps I read too many horror articles in the local press. P'raps I listen to too many horror stories on the TV. I dunno. 

I think seeing Growler jnr getting beaten up at school last year and the trauma that caused, coupled with the resultant total lack of support and grossly inadequate punishment issued to the perbutraitor (sp) from both the school and the plod has p'raps made me ultra wary. Not a healthy situation granted, but ebbing on the side of caution.
I take your points though, but I'll be damned if i do, and damned if I don't.

I was relentlessly bullied at school, but would like to think that I learned from the miserable experiences, and can now fend for myself adequately.
I can't fend for them at school, but I can protect them from the extreme dangers on the roads around here. It really is that grim.
Another year or two, and they may well have sufficient road sense to be let loose on the main roads around here.
Mind you, even the side roads are lethal around here.

Understood Growler. Bullying cannot be tolerated and if the authorities are too spineless to act, you face a stark choice.

THAT is precisely what I wanted to do after all the pussy footing around from the school and plod, but no. Not adviseable I was told, and his surname and address where a definate no.
My two won't even point out this little bastard to me because they fear I'll take the law into my own hands.
Well if no one else will help me..............
