Stupid Boy!

All fifteen of them aren't called Brian now are they.
Mind you I have known them to field at least four Jones, two Williams and several Jenkins.

They may not all be called Brian, but they're probably all related! And anyway, surely that is the name of the beer, not the player, if it were to do with the player it would be displayed on their pint pot - after all, a rugby jersey wouldn't hold much beer now would it? And who in wales has brains anyway?  ;)

Well, someone had to say it!

Now I'm confused. Why would a nice level-headed sensible Englishman want to voluntarily live in a region covered in hills, with perpetual rain and leeks where they speak a foreign language? Now, if there mitigating circumstances such as there are in the south of France (i.e. it's warm and the food and wine are good) then I could, perhaps, understand. Oh well, some things I'll never figure out.

Oh, and I grew up close to Wales with Welsh ancestry so am quite familiar with the area and its ways.

Lower house prices, better schools, lower cost of living, retirement and a desire to raise children somewhere safer than outer London ...... need I go on?
Much depends on which part of Wales you choose.

There is little to offer in the employment stakes. Jobs are few and far between so you need to be (a) retired and (b) able work from home as and when you wish.
Since both of these apply to me no problems!
Few problems at all except perhaps a very few of the village natives but most are just like everyone else wherever you live. Good and bad. This does rate highly in the "Safest places to live in the UK" lists so long as you don't drive at speed.
Only 10% of the county put WELSH as their nationality in the last census. Tells you much about Denbighshire.

PS On the job front most work in Manchester ~ Only 75 minutes drive.
My daily commute into London was 35 miles and often took twice as long!
I do know that out of 1065 homes in the village 130+ are occupied by people working from home!!

Nope. We have the same intention as soon as Mr Wench can get a teaching job there.
