Watched the 50th anniversary release of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest last night. As a bonus they also played Nicholson's speech at the AFI beforehand.

A version where Kirk Douglas was playing the lead role would have been interesting but I don't think he could have pulled off unhinged like Nickolson.

It's still a jarring film with powerful performances even though it's been nearly 30 years since I worked in mental health. The ECT scene especially, having seen the modern (at the time) equivalent where the differences are monumental.
