Just ordered a second battery, kerching  .

Not just to capture some of this exported power, it seems batteries have a power in/out limit.  In our case 4.5kW which would be fine except charging the car takes 7.3kW so we can only do it 'for free' when the sun's properly shining.

Get a generator…..

Could do but they are a lot of faff and I believe there's rules and regs now esp if it can deliver 5kW+ which is what we'd need.   With a BIG battery it's almost carefree and with the right tariff we can in theory import power overnight and sell it back at twice the price during the day.

Seems you can get a 5kW petrol generator for about €1k but it's a real faff to use them safely and legally for your home https://www.inbalance-energy.co.uk/articles/how-to-power-house-portable-generator.html

There is a local company (Mitas) that will do a proper install with the changeover, etc. in single or three phase.

I had a quote from them for my first house but (stupidly) didn't ever get it installed....

Looking at the log it's actually the second one we've just sailed through not really noticing
