But it's aubergines - it takes a lot of effort to come up with a vegetable even less palatable than turnips but evolution did it with the aubergine.

A BLT made with Quorn or TVP 'bacon' can be very good.  Not as good as the real thing I've no doubt but sodding aubergines?  Whoever thought of that either needs serious therapy or just happens to have a stack of aubergine futures to sell

I used to like airline food esp in the economy seats where they just give you the whole lot in one go as you can then start with pud and work backwards.  And Easyjet's pizzas were quite good even if you had to pay

But it's gone downhill a bit.
