Lot of fuss and hulabaloo today about the airing of this 'drama' last night rubschin:
Apparently the main argument is that the West family were not consulted and did not want the whole thing dragged up again in the meeja and that it is too soon for the victim's families. Although I'm not sure it would ever be the right time if we are looking at time limits for that. I can understand how it would be harrowing on all those families involved but this is something I imagine they are burdoned with on a daily basis .
I know they have the option of not watching this but I guess for them it is about having everyone talk about it all over again.
However this is fact and part of history now. Although I'd imagine Rose West would not be too impressed if she has hopes of parole at any time in the future noooo:
I did watch it last night. There will to my mind always be a sort if morbid fascination about these people , West(s) , Sutcliffe, Nilson. I thought it was a brave and insightful production , that didn't attempt to humanise or sympathise with West . It was done mainly through the interview process which was apparently true to the interview scripts and therefore not greatly misrepresented or over indulged.
The performances were excellent and it was interesting to view this from the 'appropriate adult' perspective. Apparently this was her first time of being asked to do this role.....you just can't imagine volunteering to do such a thing and your first case being a mass murderer such as West. eeek:

Can I do my Myra Hindley joke now......... rubschin:

Interested to hear your take on it.....also Rose West - freakin scary wumman scared2:

See what you think ... although chilling twas extremely well done IMHO
I too watched it last night Miss D and agree with you.
The only slightly odd thing (for me) is that it was on ITV. ITV is currently running a series of meerkat adverts. If the actress in one of the adverts is not the same one that is playing the 'appropriate adult' then she is her twin sister, most disconcerting. rubschin:

Emily Watson eeek:
I doubt she will be in the Meerkat advert but now I need to see what her lookalikey looks like lol:

I can watch the ITV player on the PS3 (which is how I watch the BBC)... so theoretically yes... I just never do as it is generally shite (IMHO of course)....

So what we know so far is that two most prominent ladies on the forum watched this and none of the blokes did-is this because the subject matter is perfick girly tittle-tattle material, or that the bloke playing Fred is alledgedly a hottie ?
-
So , so shallow ( not grave) lol:
If any of the blokes do watch it they can give you their opinion.
But I would hardly say it was 'tittle tattle ' material noooo:
As for Dominic West I think he is a fine actor , enjoyed The Wire and The Hour but thought his performance in this was outstanding. That's not because I fancy the pants off him cos I don't . I can appreciate a man for other talents you know whistle:
-
Send him a picture of your tongue whistle:b like
-
Watching at the mo'. Gripping stuff ... brilliantly acted. And yes, Dom West from The Wire ... scarily believable

Good grief I would not want you as a judge Beerhead. eeek: Next thing we know, you will know for sure that Miss D and I have a lesbian relationship because we are both Misses and our second names start with consecutive letters of the alphabet.
-
I knew I was right. What colour are your dungarees ;)

Watched it last night... awesome!
Looking forward to the next one...
I'm not sure I could have kept quiet under the circumstances... it would have been "**koff** why don't you guys dig up all the garden while you are here like **winks**" whistle:
Never tell me a secret... redface:
-
I watched it on ITV.Player last night
^^^ Wot he said ^^^
But I can keep a secret, it's the people I tell it to that can't
-
I thought that about keeping shtum redface:
Also them asking him where he had buried the bodies and taking him back to the garden and basement so he could pinpoint the spot for them to focus their efforts in those areas.
If what they suspected had happened, had happened, then dig the whole bloody garden / basement up straight away , you know you are going to have to anyway noooo:
I found the whole relationship thing between the 'appropriate adult and the suspect' quite fascinating and also alarming. The poor woman has just passed 'her training' and then was left alone with this man who was initially accused of murdering his daughter then approx umpteen others eeek:

Prolly just nosy... ;)

You can understand why she would look to take on more responsibilities to keep her out of the home rubschin:

Currently watching part 2 then off for a marathon lesbian shagfest with Miss D because that is what we gossip-mongers apparently do.

The programme I mean like...

It was ...left you looking for answers though but that is the reality of a very grim situation I guess. Also found I wanted to know much more about the monster that was Rose West .
The 'relationship' between the Appropriate Adult and Fred West developed into something much more complex and shows how the meeja get their paws stuck into everything as well . The end credits were haunting cry:
