I did not sleep much last night. This was almost, no it WAS a pleasure.
To be back in ones own bed, the luxury of being able to stretch out. The feel of soft Egyptian cotton sheets/quilt cover. The snuggle factor of a quilt, more than two pillows and those not having a scrap of plastic in sight. Mr C on the other side of the bed the windows open, the sounds of the stream and the trees during the night and the dawn chorus as morning arrived, a night to savour IMHO. cloud9:

Sounds heavenly ...welcome home, your real one and your virtual one xxxxx

 indeed Snoops, small pleasures but so worth it.
Oh and a cup of my favourite tea on the bedside cabinet bought to me by Mr C and much appreciated by me.
Have to take son to train station shortly so a move will have to be made. Not enough time with the boy but a start well made.
Thanks Miss D xx

Thank you, it would seem that you all know what I mean. Growler I know what you mean and have every intention of doing just that. The health reforms will be done slowly and surely.
One thing that did surprise me (boring serious stuff) I do not have a high cholesterol count. My mother's sister does and has had for several years, she is a woman in her mid sixties about 5'7'' and very thin. My sister who is of the same sort of build as our aunt only 5'3'' though has a high cholesterol count. My mother has it too.
As a result of the last two weeks kerfuffle I now have to take a cholesterol lowering tablet at night.
This I am told is because diet has very little reflection on the count this is mainly a ploy to part you from your hard earned cash. Cholesterol is manufactured in your liver at night. That's it. Production can be reduced by the drugs I am on. I shall later be looking into a use for fresh cholesterol.
This should maybe be in the medical centre. surrender:

Standard medicine-man clap-trap is to put anyone who is "at risk" on statins "to lower their cholesterol".
Statins can have very nasty side effects, particularly the high dose or "aggressive" treatments that doctors swear by these days.
Took my quacks 8 years to admit that many of my problems with muscle aches and muscle weakness was being caused by statins. Due mainly to statins I could no longer walk more than 100 yards without severe pain in leg muscles and joints, going up stairs was agony.
Finally an enlightened Dr agreed with me that perhaps the high dosage was inappropriate and reduced the prescription to a low dose variety. First effect noticed was that within 6 months my alleged high cholesterol dropped like a stone and for 3 years I have maintained a low cholesterol level .... no matter what I eat ~ another myth about eggs, cream etc put to bed. You can't eat your way to a high cholesterol count, you can eat your way to being fat and exces fat gets into the blood.
Note for the pedants: there is "Good" cholesterol as well as Bad!
Second effect of low dose statins .... massive reduction in aches and pains in muscles/joints but I'll prolly never regain the ability to walk any distance. I can, however, do more now than I could.
The short answer is to avoid the "wrong fats" in your diet, watch your carb intake (go for slow release carbs), exercise if possible, shed weight if possible. Take proper rest when you need to and avoid stress...... All this should reduce blood pressure which is much, much more likely to see you off than cholesterol.
The point is that statins are cheap and having been hailed as a wonder drug some years ago many doctors cannot see past the price and the bullsh*t. Recent research has suggested that actually statins do not have the long term benefits that have been claimed and in some cases do more harm than good.

I echo the welcome back from all the others.
Nothing can match the comfort of your own home and bed.
I also agree with Snoopy about Statins, very fashionable but watch for the side effects and stop taking them if any show.

Thank you chaps. I will heed the advice. Itching like mad at the moment, it is either bed bugs or a reaction to one of the drugs. evil:
