Title: Water
Post by: Barman on July 03, 2011, 10:05:13 AM
We got a message from the village council on Thursday saying the water would be cut off until lunchtime Friday... It wasn't...  ::)

So, today I planned to clean my pool and top it up but guess what? No bloody water...  Banghead

Still, all is explained in an e-mail from the village council titled "WATER OVERCONSUMTION"...

Dear Pissouri Resident,

Because there is an overconsumption all over Community,  Kampi area (antrounies, kolokotroni street, leptos etc) have no water at the moment. The main reason is that water reservoir "Antennes", situated over the new school" is in the highest elevetion and saves water with great difficulty.

As for this you are requested to use the water cautiously so not to incommode the good from our fellow citizens

Ackchewlee... I have 2 tonnes of cold water stored, 250l of boiling hot solar headed water stored and about 10l of purified drinking water stored....

So apart from being unable to top up me pool it doesn't affect my smugnivity....  cool14:

Okay... I've put the hose in the pool... I need to add about four tonnes of water (it isn't an Olymp[ic sized swimming pool), the hose is ½" in diameter and the water pressure is 5 bar - how long will it take...?

Any Systeme Internationale des Unites Populaires measurement is acceptable but you must show your workings...

That wouldn't help... sadly the mains hose that comes into the house is only ½" too....  noooo:

Anyhoo - despite BM's tiny hose, it should take about 18 hours and 37 minutes to fill to a depth of 5 feet. Or 0.869 TMRs.
