The decision has been made!
We are going to spend time over the upcoming Easter Break to clear out all surplus stuff. The accumulation of 23 years years and 10 different homes .... a lot of which has not been unpacked since we moved to this, our biggest house ever. From a single bedsit in Enfield we have climbed our way up to a massive four double bedroomed, three reception room detached house gathering shite at every turn.
IT MUST GO!
So the question is do we take it to the council tip or a boot sale?
Anyone have any experience of Boot Sales from a sellers point of view?
What do we want with 100 wine glasses, 50 place settings of, frankly, cheap hotel wear china, 6 dining chairs that have not felt an arse upon them in 10 years (Yep they came from Ikea!) more chefs knives than the average police amnesty can produce, 4 unopened boxes of new hanging files, a metal filing cabinet (4 drawer with keys) and feck knows what else is in the garage?
Can I be arsed to stand around being insulted and argued with by the locals at a Boot Sale? Is it even worth the fee for the pitch?
Come to that is it worth the diesel to make several trips to the council tip?
HELP!

Can you stick a "Free to whoever collects" sticker on the THW?
-
To the above you can add four almost knackered lap-tops, two past their best desk-tops, boxes of pooter cables, several keyboards, two VCR's, more no longer fitting clothing than the local charity shop, sundry bolts of fabric, boxes of paper crafting kit ......... and so it goes on! Feck knows what else I shall find!
The list so far is just what I can remember is in there!

No need ~ she is going in October anyway!

I went to help a mate at a bootsale once. What a load of Wankah: Wankah: are there looking for any old shite.
It is a good way of getting a few quid if you can put up with the potential customers. They come over to your car before you have even parked it. evil: Then as you get your items for sale out to put on display they are already rummaging through unpacked boxes. cussing:
Make sure everything is priced before you get there or they grab things and shove them in your face requesting the price thinking they might catch you off guard.
If you can put up with arseholes you will have an amusing day out and some beer tokens to take home. I managed to sell a laydeez overcoat to a yuff who proudly put it on and wore it for the rest of the day, he had trouble doing the buttons up so I managed to help him out without piezzing myself. eveilgrin:
