Cambridgeshire council loses unencrypted memory stick
The Information Commissioner's Office has found Cambridgeshire council to be in breach of the Data Protection Act after it lost a stick containing sensitive data
The breach was reported to the ICO by the council in November 2010 and occurred shortly after Cambridgeshire had undertaken an internal campaign to promote its encryption policy. As part of the policy, employees were asked to hand in unencrypted devices and were warned about the importance of keeping personal information secure.
