Title: A Tax by any other name

So the Government plan to force banks and retailers to ask if you want to donate to charity every time you use your bank card!

"Do you have a Nectar Card?"
"No"
"Do you want to sign up for a Nectar Card?"
"No"
"Do you want cash back?"
"No"
"Do you want to donate to an unspecified charity?"
"No"
"Is there anything else I can do for you"
"JUST LET ME PAY FOR MY GOODS AND GET OUTTA HERE!"  angry041:

Can you imagine the queues at the checkouts?
It's going to take forever just to pay for your shopping.

Hopefully they will put a "FOOK OFF!" button for those who shop via the www  evil:

And I wonder just how long it will be before the banks use this as an excuse to raise charges to cover their costs in operating the system.

I choose where I spend my money and I choose which charities I wish to support.

BASTARDS!  cussing:

People have been saying "meet the new boss, same as the old boss" for a while now...

I think this lot might actually prove to be worse than the old lot - who could have possibly imagined that a year ago?

I am working on a project about Vince's proposals for the reform of education in his empire. The phrase "complete cock up" hardly does it justice.  noooo:

Prolly!

Personally I don't want a "Big Idea" or a "Big Society".

I'd much rather have Maggie back!

At least you knew where you were with her in charge.

I have started paying cash for everything I am allowed to as it stops all the stupid questions.   However, you cannot pay for a hotel room with cash without a passport or driving license, although we do not yet have to carry ID cards in this country, as far as I am aware.  The fact that I spoke English (even with a genuine Midlands accent), I look English and I was able to produce a letter inviting me to Interview with an extrememly British organisation which had my home address on it... and I was able to produce my works ID cards.

.... and any road up... I thought it wasn't allowed that British currency was refused... doesn't  it have implications for the financial stability of the Country.... like?   rubschin:
