My nice cousin sponsors kids in India. He goes for 6 weeks each year and buys a bike which he takes on trains to visit remote villages. He loves it cloud9:

Minor is train mad ~ He & I watched it the past two nights and the third and final programme in the mini series is on tonight twixt 7 and 8. As the lad is busy I am recording it on my Freeview box (in the study) and we will watch it tomorrow.
I/we agree with you about the Indian Hill Trains ~ however Minor's ambition is to ride the railways in Switzerland .... in fact he views Switzerland as the ideal model railway layout. Since he has a cousin (Lil Bruvver's Daughter) living in Switzerland he plans to visit them with his Uncle in a few years time and spend a week riding the rails.

Thanks for the heads up Pastis, I shall watch them on I-plyer
Snoopy, I think I've seen every one of the Swiss Railway journeys, and watch them again and again cloud9: Fantastic scenery, wonderful footage of the old trains, and I marvel at the engineering involved to build most of the lines

Minor's BIG plan is to win the lottery and buy Swiss Railways .... Bless him.

Still railway related, I watched Great British Railway Journeys tonight presented by Michael Portillo. Tonights was Batley to Sheffield and the focus was more on the surrounding areas and its history rather than the railway. Very interesting. I've now set the series link for the rest of the series happy088
