Title: How Nice, How Understanding
Post by: Just One More on November 28, 2010, 11:38:58 PM
 Source  (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-black-country-11855632)

Mum critically injured, a two month old baby dead, and the 4+ occupants of the Mitsubishi Evo do a runner before the police arrive

Now, I understand why they have to be careful about what they say, and ideally he'd be saying, "we'll hunt you low-life ******* down and see that 'justice' is done", but he's not even saying, "we are continuing our enquiries and hope to make arrests". Instead we get a mealy-mouthed, "We are doing everything we can to help the family of the little boy through this but we need to speak to the driver and passengers urgently. I can understand that they may feel apprehensive and maybe a little scared but we need to find out what happened so we can help the family through this."

Hang your head in shame Inspector Watkins or whoever in that force that deems this to be an appropriate statement to make

I agree JOM...

"We are doing everything we can... so we can help the family through this."

Hardly makes the capture of the scum that were in the car important at all... Help us find this scum would make the whole thing more urgent to anybody that might have seen or know something about the incident...

What a farce eh...? Police farce in fact....  noooo:

Does seem a bit mealy mouthed I agree but if I know most coppers they'll be looking very hard for these people. The Police have stock phrases that they have to use to avoid prejudicing future court cases because there is always some money grabbing lawyer who will use what they do say to try to defend such people.
In my experience there is nothing like a dead baby to get the rozzers really narked and working on a case.
