I had a bill from the Halifax. It seems I owe them 44p!!
I phoned, debit card in hand, and they refused to process the payment. Too small!
Now they have written again and added interest. I now owe them 46p!! cussing:
I phoned again and they said go into a branch. I went in yesterday and put 46p on the counter. They refused to process the transaction. Too small!! Banghead
Any suggestions eveilgrin:
-
Pay a fiver, leave it for a week then demand repayment with interest of 50p.
You can always throw in an admin/handling charge of say £25.

Why not just buy something with the card and pay off the balance in full next month? ::)

I no longer have the card Banghead

Ask for a replacement card like... ::)

If I wanted a sensible answer I wouldn't have posted it here, would I? cussing:
-
My answer was sensible, and practical.
-
Send them a postal order ~ recorded delivery like.
Together with a letter saying "In full and final settlement of your demand"
Whether they cash it or not is up to them.

Alternatively send them a 46pence stamp (unused). It is legal tender!
Enclose it with a letter as above.
-
Recorded delivery + the cost of postal order + trip to post office + standing in queue behind grannies collecting pension + parking ticket on car parked on yellow line outside post office...
I can see that would be much better than asking them to send you a new card (at their cost), using it to put petrol in the car then paying off the bill in full next month eh...? ::)

About 10 years ago a mate of mine used to go on purpose to the council office to pay his council tax. Deliberately he would make it 5 or 10 pence above or under the amount required.
The 'pooter could not cope with anything that was the correct amount.
"It is the only cheque I have left" was his reply.
He loved Phuquing in up the system. whistle:

Logged into my internet bank account last night to check on things and saw my credit card account with jest under £2500 clear on it. If I find that means I CAN have it back heads are going to roll! cussing:

Did you go up on the cable car? scared2:
-
No I walked. I was fitter then. (1991)
This was pre the new airport. I had a freebee trip to Hong Kong courtesy of Cathay Pacific. It was the first non-stop London - Hong Kong flight. First class happy088
-
Excellent!
They now have a cable car from the MTR stop as an alternative to the bus ride to the monastery. You then still have to walk up the 256 (?) steps to the Buddha but it's worth it as you know. happy088

Well having now had a letter from the bank telling me that because the final PPI payment was delayed the limit on my dead credit card was being slashed I have now sent a blistering complaint in and am now waiting for their reply. cussing:
