Title: How do you like your eggs in the morning ...fertilised
Post by: Miss Demeanour on October 28, 2010, 07:46:07 PM
Apparently not  whistle:

Cooked breakfast 'cuts fertility'

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/foodanddrinknews/8089880/Cooked-breakfast-cuts-fertility.html (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/foodanddrink/foodanddrinknews/8089880/Cooked-breakfast-cuts-fertility.html)

A diet rich in saturated fats - found in foods like fried bacon, sausages, butter and cream - could cut the sperm count by almost half, found researchers at Harvard Medical School in the US.

Their study discovered that it did not matter if the man was fat or thin - such a diet had the same negative effect on sperm concentration.

More reason to tuck in if you ask me  lol:

I eat mainly a cooked breakfast each day as I hate cereals. I have 5 children (that I admit to) and maybe another that I didn't.

I only eat the yolk, unless it's in an egg mayonnaise sandwich, or scrambled egg.

I used to be in the RAF with a guy who ate all his brekky and the white of the fried egg leaving the yolk to the end. He would then scoop the yolk onto his knife and swallow it whole........ Never did find out if that was because he liked the yolk best or hated it..... Like a kid with sprouts when they are made to eat sort of thing.

Well my Mum used to go on about powdered eggs in WW2... I suppose he could entertain us with stories of powdered eggs in earlier conflicts too - when were they invented?  ::)

Powdered egg was developed in the 1930s by Albert Grant and co of the Mile end Road. This cake manufacturer was importing liquid egg from China and one of his staff realised that this was 95% water. An experimental freeze drying plant was built and tried. Then a factory was set up in Singapore to process Chinese egg. As war approached Mr Grant transferred his dried egg facility to Argentina. The patent was lifted by the British government during the war and many other suppliers came into the market notably in the USA.
