I said I wouldn't and really there was a time when I didn't think it made sense but times and techy stuff changes. I've bought a new phone, an iPhone G4 cloud9:
The clincher was the synchronicity bit; I had diaries, address books and contacts all over the place, play lists on a shuffle, laptop and desktop telling me different things and a mobile that didn't recognise any of them. Then came MobileMe and a neighbour who extolled its virtues a couple of months ago. At a little over a pound a week the whole lot is synchronised up in the big cloud in the sky cloud9:
Early days yet as I'm still waiting for the ok from 3 with the number change but all the playlists, contacts, address book, bookmarks have been uploaded in seconds and it synchs in seconds each time it's pugged in.
The old Sony Ericsson can run with a Virgin PAYG sim as an emergency back up and radio on the move but I reckon the web radio on the G4 will probably have the better of it in time ... specially when FM drops off.

Well at least Growler has another back up phone when it's needed lol:
Wenchy would be sooooo proud of you right now cloud9:

Good point ~ well made! Growler can make a reservation for an upgrade to a W580 at keen prices! (it was £280 when it came out IIRC eeek:)
The process of buying an iPhone G4 is not simple at present; one has to make a reservation eeek: . I was told over the phone I could go in to the Covent Garden store and pick one up but, oh no.
Have you made a reservation, Sir? What is this? A Jermyn Street tailor? No, I hadn't and was told on the phone I could come in. They're still shifting like hot cakes apparently and mostly to foreigners who go for the non contract, as evidenced by the two Nigerian bouncers sitting next to me at my iBuy Play Desk they call Customer Service ::)
Still, the deal was done eventually along with a sleek, black cover and the sticky, anti-glare wotsits that protect the front Shrugs:

Indeed, a finger on the pulse but it would seem a blip. Anyway I'm a user not an investor and for the time being they suit my needs.

Sorry. I have a personal dislike of everything Apple (except the record label).
They are not a nice organisation when it comes to looking after consumers.
What other other company goes around removing apps that you have paid for, just cos THEY don't approve?
For a company from the land of the free, they behave in a very controlling manner.

I shouldn't really be here at this time of night, but Don't Tell the Bride is awful tonight.

No need for apology at all. I'm with Apple as a user and back in the late 80's it was the only system artisans like myself were able to use with any ease. I've stuck with them out of habit and increasing 'industry standards' as much as anything else.
Some of their gear is tat; viz the earbuds. I don't use them, Sony Gold were much better for quality and fit.

Not a chance. Don't need all these/those useless gizmos thank you very very much. noooo:
Simple IS best, believe me.
Growler has just ordered a bew battery off his best friend cloud9: Amazon, for his most satisfactory Z600.
£7.99 inc. p&p. Lafin'! lol:
I suspect this one is goosed, as it only holds it's charge for about 36 hours.

I've just found out how to turn off default shuffle mode doh:
It kept changing tracks with every step down the stairs redface:

I have a presentation to do next week and was looking around for one of those remote devices rather than going back to the laptop to click the next slide.
At this point I should prolly say "Tel, look away now" rubschin:
They have an app for it! eeek: It works either via WiFi or a network; I've just tried it on my WiFi ... and the phone becomes a remote cloud9:
-
Oh Pasty noooo:
You have become lost to the 'I have an app for that ' brigade noooo:
-
I know redface:
Each slide appears on the phone with the next one beside it and you just swipe forward or backward eeek: I have to admit it's quite neat.
