And you can zoom out and look at any ship anywhere in the world... apart from places where they have piracy like...

They have similar for The Solent, I believe it crashed last week due to the numbers using it when the Queen Elizabeth came in to be launched by the Queen.  See here  (http://www.ais-live.co.uk/aismap/AIS%20Maps/sailandpleasure.html)

He does seem to vanish at this time of year .......... Do you suppose his "other" job is something we can't tell the children the truth about ... If so we can track him here:

And to think we only used to have the "Shipping Movements" in the Southern Evening Echo each night and would all go to Weston Shore to watch the bigger liners come and go. Same thing I 'spose, just more technical.

Ex hailed from Bromley.

Most of the people there, especially the females, came from Southend.

The company I work for earns it's money on knowing where ships are, where they're going and what cargos they can carry. We pay thousands of pounds p.a. for their data.

One of my first jobs when I started was to send on crew mail to where the ship was due next. We acted as agents for a couple of Japanese shipowners. No computers or e-mail, mainly corresponded by telex.
