My ICD was replaced a month ago. Very painful etc but the doc re-positioned it and it is far more comfortable than the previous one.
Anywhoo today a courier arrived with a box. On opening it was my promised new toy. I no longer need to go to hospital every 12 weeks for the implant to be interogated, downloaded and checked. My new toy allows me to do all this from my armchair. I simply connect the magic box to the phone line (I can even stay on line and take or make calls whilst doing it). Once connected I place the paddle over the implant site and it reads all the info and sends it to Liverpool Hosp.
Hardly seems possible does it? Now I only have to go in once a year for them to "fire" the implant to make sure it works properly.
All I need to do now is get on top of the diabetes and no more outpatient appointments for me! cloud9:
For the technically minded this is the thing
