Title: The 'simple' things in life...
Post by: Miss Creant Commander of the picklement and baking BAb(Hons) on June 18, 2010, 02:45:54 PM
I am in possession of a new kettle it pours without slopping water all over the place unlike the old one.  Making a hot drink would also involve burnt feet and mopping up operations. I had put off buying a new one for months, heaven knows why, there was no logic to it.  noooo:

We must all have little things that wind us up but would be easily remedied.

Any references to willies will not go down well.

Willies are badly designed. Floppy, hard to accommodate, scare the youngsters/Catholics. Then explode in trousers with no warning if you walk past a melon shop or summat.

Does your kettle light up?  eyes:

I thought I said willies were out...As it were. evil:

The kettle has a red light on it but it is black and does not light up.

So. It's got a red light on it that's black, but it doesn't work?  rubschin:

You buy this at the £ shop?

By coincidence we bought a new kettle last Monday to solve a similar problem. The old kettle has now joined it predecessors (x2) on a shelf in the garage "Just In Case".

We have also bought a new steam iron ~ the 4th in as many years (They too are all in the garage). This one cost only £4.36 in ASDA. It seemed a waste to pay more as they go wrong so often. Is it me or is £4.36 an odd price for anything let alone a steam iron?

But if you buy a new kettle then you have to get a new toaster to match   whistle:

NO you don't. noooo: The old toaster works. The new microwave and new coffee machine do however match the kettle.  Banghead

I've recently bought a proper umbrella / walking stick stand; it doesn't match anything but is uber cool and pleasant to the eye  8)

Souns much like the one I purchased from 'the Asda' 12 months ago.
Glows a pleasant shade of blue inside when you flick it on?

Switch is starting to become a bit random and problematic now though, but for less than a fiver, who actually cares ey, who? Shrugs:

Correct.

No one.

just noticed, that you're talking about an iron. redface:

Don't actually do ironing now. Used to iron me socks and gruns when I was single though.
Yea, I don't know what that was all about either tbqath. noooo:

And to save getting a matching pan, you could get  one of these  (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tefal-Toast-TT550015-Toaster-Maker/dp/B0013KEDKY)  confused:

OK second try, pay attention at the back and do try not to fall asleep.

1.  The colour of the kettle is black.

2.  There is a red light under the on off/switch which glows red when the appliance is switched on.

3.  Both the kettle and the light work as they should.

4.  The kettle was purchases from John Lewis.

JOM not sure if I would love that thing or hate it. Brilliant idea though. razz:

That was considered and deemed inappropriate by SWWLTBO on the grounds that with 5 in the family it wouldn't make enough toast at one go. My brother has one but he lives alone. Perfect for him.
