Title: Arguing with wimmin
Post by: Nick on January 26, 2010, 11:12:36 AM
Right. This topic has prolly been done to death over the years, but it remains an eternal bone of contention, so why not more of the same?

As you all know Mrs Nick and I have been having difficulties for some time.

In an attempt to rescue this situation (for the sake of the Boy largely) we have been seeing an counsellor. Nice woman. Very neutral.

Anyhoo, Mrs Nick goes back again and again over the same ground. It's like a tape loop.

Last night I suggested that she tended to disagree with whatever I said if it deviated from HER view.

SHe denied this vehemently. As someone else here remarked a while back, it's also a Catholic thing  noooo: Monopoly of truth and all that.

Said counsellor then asked me for my view of one aspect of the situation.

I carefully said, "Well. as I see it...."

I began. Two sentences in Mrs Nick starts yelling. Not her view, you see?

Five sentences in she is on her hind legs and screaming and wagging her finger. For 10 mins. COunsellor and I watched her.

Then I walked out.

So. I am off to Aberdeen in the morning and when I get back She is off to Libya (again) for a week. The Boy? I know where he is going to be but she won't tell me. If he has an accident next week the people he is staying with have no means of contacting me. I think this is wrong. But what do I know. I am only a man.

But what do I know. I am only a man.

Sounds like Mrs. Nick is winning.  rubschin:

It also seems to me your logic is faulty:

Mrs. Nick is intransigent.

Mrs. Nick is a woman.

therefore all women are intransigent.

Is there much point in discussing anything with Mrs. Nick? Obviously I don?t have anywhere near the full story but if she is truly this bad then you have to walk away. Keep contact to a minimum and make sure that you keep a good record of what she says and does, with witnesses if possible. Otherwise you are going to end up with nothing and with minimal contact with The Boy.

I think we all knew she was wrong but I'll bet she will find a lawyer who says she is right.
