Lord Mandelson plans street parties for Queen's diamond jubilee
Lord Mandelson?s gift for rising above the political battle happy001 made him much the best minister to announce the arrangements for the celebration of the Queen?s diamond jubilee in 2012
Nobody could have conveyed in a more loyal and dignified tone the plan to hold ?a series of fitting events? in the first week of June 2012, in which we shall have the chance to recognise and give thanks for the Queen?s remarkable achievements. rubschin:
Lord Hunt of Wirral, replying for the Tories, made the error of inserting one or two partisan remarks, which Lord Mandelson quite rightly ignored, instead simply thanking Lord Hunt for speaking so well of the Queen.
A lesser performer would have been thrown by the embarrassment of forgetting the genial Lord McNally, but Lord Mandelson recovered without apparent effort, declaring himself strongly in favour of street parties and mugs.
Lord Mandelson was just as receptive to suggestions from other peers for historical pageants, tree-planting and a new classic horse race to mark the jubilee.
noooo: noooo: noooo:
What a crock of shite evil:
