You must have been looking for the passports to reach the conclusion that they have been "lost".
BUT
Why would you be looking for passports if you are not going anywhere?

This smacks of obsessive compulsive disorder ~ needing to know that these documents are safe and needing to constantly check on their whereabouts .... Classic symptoms IMHO.
