Title: Net curtains
Post by: tel on December 08, 2009, 03:14:57 PM
I had to go to a funeral this morning.

Mrs Tel saw this as a perfect opportunity to take the net curtains down and wash them - she knows that I can't abide the outside world peering in as they go past.

Anyone else have this problem?

Yes. I always have to draw the main curtains as soon as the nets are down.

I hate net curtains ~ 'specially the ones that Northerners call "Terylenes". Lace Cafe Curtains are another matter.

Hate

Acceptable (just) but only to aid privacy

However at the Kennel we have got rid of the need by planting the front garden with evergreens to shield our windows from the gaze of the nosy with the added advantages of deadening road noise and soaking up traffic fumes.

I hate net curtains with a passion but can see the need for them.  I can just about cope with plain voile panels for the sake of decency.  I have had the pleasure of living in a number of houses where they just were not needed. cloud9:  Not my houses you understand I was just squatting. noooo:
