Why would anyone in their right mind want to go all that way just to look at some flowers? If you want to see flowers, go to your local garden centre and save the planet by not using the fuel.

Alternatively, a nice walk in the countryside will suffice - after all, what are garden flowers but cultivated weeds that someone once decided they liked the look of?

Twas a nice day out, lunch with some friends.
Mrs Tel bought some plants etc plus sausages, a truckle and a cheeseboard.

Managed to dodge the rain during the day but was then witness to 2 very loud thunderstorms, although there was the compensation of seeing a double rainbow when we got home..

Useful things, truckles.

Used to have one as a boy, spent endless hours riding on it but I have to admit, the elf n safety brigade would have had a fit - no brakes other than the soles of my feet!

Well I thought when I posted that it would be a small truck. Seems I was wrong - the great god Google gives this information:

 Wiki definition  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truckle)

So, unless she bought a cheese or a  roll away bed. . . .

But then maybe it was one of these:

In which case, its proper name is a trug.

Or "Truckle is also the name given to a person of considerably above average fitness. The term was first applied to a British female called Alicia."

Or (to complete the set) "Truckle can be used as a verb (informal) meaning to borrow in a good natured way. ex. 'He popped round last night for a cup of tea and truckled all of my Leonard Cohen albums"

Yes, but you have to admit the comic image of Mrs Tel buying a fit bird called Alicia is a bit better than her nicking Leonard Cohen suicide song albums. eyes:

Truckle - a round cheese. English to be exact, very tasty.

Never owned a pair.
They always remind of Dexies Midnight Runners, and and the must have fashion for pregnant women about 20 years ago. razz:
