BBC Radio 4's Thought for the Day: reflections from a faith perspective on issues and people in the news.
This morning's gem for all parents;
Teenagers are God's way of saying 'How do you feel about having created something in your own image that then denies your existence?'
Oh how very bloody true! confused:

So sickenly accurate cry:
Mind you if I don't exist then the bank of Miss D doesn't exist either eveilgrin:

I would like to think so but somehow it just doesn't work that way.
This morning the THW pushed past me in the kitchen, dealing me a hefty whack on the side with her bag, slung over one shoulder and full of books, to get to the sink. She dabbled two fingers in the water from a running tap, dried them and clumped me again on her way out. At no time did she say good morning, hello, kiss my arse or excuse me. She then slammed out of the front door to catch her bus. I have no idea if my bulk has been rendered invisible overnight or if I am being deliberately ignored for some twisted reasoning of her own that imagines I have committed some parental offence.
This evening she will be wanting money and transportation, her mother, though the THW does not yet know it, will not be here and the answer she gets from me will be " ................................ noooo: .............................. " eveilgrin:

Sometimes they may ignore me but they never have denied my existence. After all, I'm not God. ;)

rubschin: You might be ....................... after all Prince Philip is worshipped by some South Sea Islanders who believe he is a God.
It is only a matter of belief.
-
When children are very little they do believe their parents are God. However by the time teenage years come along they know better.
Interesting metaphor. rubschin:

I baulked at this one for years but now know it to be true ;)
"Young men think old men are stupid; but old men know young men are stupid."

"When I was 18 I used to say my father was a fool. When I reached thirty I was amazed what the old boy had learned in 12 years!"
