Title: Easy to make Promises that mean nothing
Post by: Snoopy on September 23, 2009, 10:09:00 AM
Gordon Brown is promising things that he will not be around to deliver

Quote
Gordon Brown will add momentum to moves towards nuclear disarmament tomorrow by announcing that he intends Britain to build only three, and not the planned four, replacement Trident nuclear submarines.

Well frankly we could all be this magnanimous safe in the knowledge that we will not be around to keep the promise or even to be held to account for it so I hereby promise to give every current member of this forum £1 million on their 100th birthday (provided they turn up with both parents to vouch for them). Sorry but I can't quite run to it before then so no advances I'm afraid.

He's an idiot.

Can he not see that (whatever the motivation) this will be seen by everybody at home and abroad as a cost saving measure?

Everybody can see that the country is completely bankrupt. Everybody can see that Jonah would love to save a few billions by reducing Labours commitment to replacing Trident...

This announcement has no value whatsoever except to embarass and humiliate the country further.

What a fucknut!

The unions, who actually want to return to the "Ban the Bomb" days, are already shouting that this will mean loss of jobs!

You couldn't make it up  happy001
