We have separate beds. Have done for about 5 years now. We both sleep much better for it.
I particularly liked this bit of the report
Before the Victorian era it was not uncommon for married couples to sleep apart. In ancient Rome, the marital bed was a place for sexual congress but not for sleeping.
So what's your preference?
(With apologies to those who do not have someone with whom they are able to share a bed at the moment)

Separate rooms without a doubt.
She snores like Concorde.
Unlike me. angel1

Apology accepted.
I like sleeping alone, no being pushed to the edge, no losing the duvet in the night, no snoring and it's cooler, what with less body heat being generated, and more room.
-
Agreed. Mrs Nick is a secret farter sick2:

I doubt that even my silver tongue would persuade her to have separate rooms. It took me years to get twin beds.
Funny that Mrs DS#3 should snore. Mrs S#2 does too whilst, like you, I do not angel1

I'm of the same opinion as UM on this. A large double is bliss for one person cloud9: You can roll over to the cool side when necessary ;)
-
When is a double bed a 'large' double bed ( not King Size ) and when is it just a plain ol double bed whistle:
-
P.S Why is a Queen sized bed bigger than a King sized bed - surely that is the wrong way round rubschin:
-
UK Sizes as generally accepted
2ft 6in Child's bed
3ft Single
4ft Small Double
4ft 6in = Double
5 ft = Queen Sized
5ft 6in = King Sized
6ft + Emperor Sized
US sizes
Twin / Single 39" 75" 39" x 75" Small, so easy to fit in. Often used for guest rooms.
Twin Extra Long 39" 80" 39" x 80" Bed linen can be hard to find
Full / Double 54" 75" 27" x 75" Barely wide enough for two adults
Queen 60" 80" 30" x 80" The Queen size bed is the most popular choice for two adults, but is still too small for some
King 76" 80" 38" x 80" The King size bed is a good buying option for those who find the Queen too small
California King 72" 84" 36" x 84" The California King is narrower but longer than a standard King size bed

Not in your case angel1

P.S Why is a Queen sized bed bigger than a King sized bed?

You may have stumbled on a major business opportunity.
Why don't you start sewing and I will get on to Dragons Den.
-
Because a double or a king size will fit the Queen sized bed as that is in between the two sizes?
But actually it depends on where you shop.
Poundstrecher won't do them neither do Ikea but...............

Her Granny's sister once trod on my foot. For a little woman she was fvcking heavy!
Her Uncle once said hello to me.
Her Granddad once looked straight through me.
It's not as if I am unknown to the family.

Mrs JOM and I share the same bed. I wouldn't have it any other way. If she's not there I find it difficult to sleep, and same if I get called out, she can't sleep
