Mice sing to each other!
Believe it or not scientists have discovered that mice belong to that very exclusive group of mammals that can sing! Scientists found male mice emit ultrasonic squeaks when they smell a female nearby.
This discovery was made by accident when research was being carried out into reactions of male mice to sex pheromones. The squeaky serenades are not audible to the human ear as they are transmitted at too high a frequency the song is also personal to the individual each carrying their own ?tune?.
It is thought that singing gives male mice with the right song an advantage when it comes to mating although further research is needed
