Some of us have been up for hours enjoying the early morning bird-song, pegging out the over night load from the washing machine, emptying the over night load from the dishwasher, backing up the system. It is now 0820, the sun is shining, the skies are blue. WTF is everyone?

Having a quiet day. Back to lie down and listen to Radio 4 at 2.30 whistle:

But can I accept Smiley when it isn't the voice of Sir Alec Guiness who made the role his very own?
I intend to try but am reserving judgement. rubschin:

noooo:

Not Sir Alec but acceptable enough. The story still hangs together even if the characters were a bit "Central casting" ~ Did the Copper have to be so obviously "working class" and the "Sister" ...... was it necessary that she should be Scots?.
All in all it worked for me ..... because I have long been a "Smiley" fan.

It is a bank holiday weekend! I have no intention of seeing that time of day unless it is to briefly wake up and luxuriate in the knowledge that I don't have to get up yet!
-
Here I am cleaning the pub, bottling up the shelves, taking out the empties all on my own again. sad24:
Still the chores are done, the kettle is on and I think a cup of Earl Grey in the yard is in order.

My stepdad is off to Spain this moring and so has been up early this morning faffing for England noooo:
I am coming back to the smoke today but before I do so must go and visit a number of relatives this morning / afternoon to "say hello" . I bloody detest all that nonsense - I have more aunts , uncles and cousins than you can shake the preverbial ****** stick at but unless you visit them you never see them from one year to the next noooo:
This is normally when the arguments start and when I refuse to engage in this and my mother cops a strop noooo:
-
Never mind ~ it has to be done and you'll miss them when they are gone so make the most of them now.
-
I sometimes visit my relatives. I usually take them flowers and put them next to the headstones
