Title: Eye infection
Post by: Pastis on April 10, 2009, 04:44:03 PM
Anyone got / had an eye infection recently?  I know a couple of people who've had it and now, me  sad32:

Right eye only, a bit red and slightly weepy  cry:   My local nurse ( eyes: ) reckons a few days of antibiotic drops should sort it out  cry:

Funny thing ~ my poor eyesight was first diagnosed in the RAF ~ I had passed all medicals but three years into my term I started getting headaches and they decided that I should no longer work under fluorescent lighting in an office. My section commander walked in one morning and said " I've had a note from the MO ~ apparently the lighting is not good for your eyes so you are going to be my driver"  eeek:
When I told him I couldn't drive he tossed me the keys to his Landrover and said ~ "take it easy and get over to the MT section, they'll show you how". I managed to get there in first gear and the corporal in charge showed me the rudiments. He then sent me round the airfield a dozen times. I hit nothing and he gave me my first driving licence  eeek: eeek:
It was three years of driving later that I left the RAF and consulted an optician who decided I was short sighted and issued me with specs. I have worn glasses ever since (except for reading when I am better off without them). The prescription has hardly changed in all that time. Only vanity and fashion force me to have an eye test and new specs every couple of years.
