Title: Documents in Adobe
Post by: Miss Demeanour on March 09, 2009, 08:06:16 PM
I have been sent some work stuff but it's in Adobe format.

It would be really useful to copy and paste certain bits of it into a Word document I have - but the hand tool thingmyjiggyamy says no. It appears to be in a picture format.

Anyone know of any ways round this?????

Fank U

I could of course hire THE BOY - but his rates have gone up dramatically this week  eeek:

I have a similar problem Miss D ~ someone sent me an advert for the next issue of the mag. I cannot get rid of all the bits that their design agency have placed around the edge (They have sent an Image of the adobe page on which they have designed the ad complete with the guide lines and little arrows etc round the sides) ~ she is an agent for an insurance company and it is their publicity she MUST use which they have sent her. Anywhoo I called and said "Look, can you get them to convert the original into Word format and I can cope with it but I cannot convert this much saved and emailed copy into Word at this end" "OK she said" and the next day her publicity dept sent me the same friggin advert in the same friggin format with a long diatribe about their corporate style and how it must be adhered to. I called her again and said I cannot use this shite. "Don't worry" she replied brightly "I'll send you a hard copy" and when it turned up she had simply printed the same image that both she and they had sent me. I emailed back and asked if there was anyone in her organisation that spoke English who I could communicate with or the advert would not be published. A week later I still await an answer. Angry9:

TBH, even on my side of the fence it continues to be a total nightmare  ::)

I've had to go through no end of fannying about opening stuff in Photoshop to extract the bits I don't want / need, telling secretaries that I really don't want their Word Formatting  ::) 'cos it's all going to be different anyway come the final look, ... it goes on from week to week...

The latest one, last week, was from Sunil in Mumbai saying he couldn't see my attachments  ::)  Well upgrade to a ****ing computer Sunil instead of a mobile phone  ::)
