Thanks old chap ~ now that my PC is up and running again I was going to put that up there this evening as previously promised to Miss D.

Part of the office re-org has included the installation of a new screen ~ gone from a 15 flat to 19 inch ~ what a f'cking difference, especially having been using the 7 inch Asus machine for the past 24 hours. No more magnify the screen for me ~ I can see all now.

Post by: Snoopy on March 07, 2009, 07:47:37 PM: Weeeeeell ~ Me orfice is nice and clean and tidy with bags more room and all the books are in order, new screen fitted. New PC and old screen fitted in Minimus' bedroom. Printers are cleaned and operational, lots of spare cables everywhere and heaps of stuff in boxes that I don't know what to do with currently residing in SWWLTBO's sitting/sewing/crafting/tutoring/tat room ~ she doesn't seem to have noticed yet. whistle:

Tomorrow I will sort out and throw away tons of CDRs and floppies and stuff that are all in a big box. Mostly stuff I haven't looked at in 5 years or more. Also a day with the shredder looms as I have documents to sort and get rid of in order to make the remains fit the filing cabinets.

Hey I've just found a set of installation discs for Windows 95!!!! Antique value do you suppose?

I have been meaning to sort through loads of olds Cdr's for ages now.

I always find something else to do instead noooo: - I had to find a driver for something the other day . Ended up having to pull everything out. Terrible mess noooo:. I have just piled them all back in the cupboard though - the intention is there to sort it out but the will is missing at the moment .

The house will be turned upside down and after about two weeks I will accept that I must have thrown it away ~ then will follow the days and sleepless nights of bitter recriminations and "How could I have been such a fool" before I give way and go buy another ~ at that point I often find the one I thought I had thrown away.

Comes of being born on a farm I suppose. You know how they are always full of rusted old equipment that no-one has the heart to sling out. The minute a scrap dealer drives off with it you just know your brand shiney new one will break down and you'll have to borrow someone else's rusty old one. ~ Worse the owner of the rusty old one will willingly let you borrow it but you just know he will be smirkingly smug about having held onto his and he will be telling everyone in the pub that night about how you got rid of a priceless piece of farm history JUST AT THE WRONG TIME.

For a serious update - it was a lovely afternoon. Busy pub in Dulwich Village - complete with Thunderstorm and horrible rain for special effects. Gorgeous food and great company. Had laughs and 'serious' chats - caught up on goss and just a thoroughly pleasant afternoon.

A passenger who died on a bus was left in the garage overnight when the driver "forgot" about him.

Pawel Modzelewski, 25, was still slumped in his top-deck seat as the bus went out the following morning and was only discovered when a worried commuter raised the alarm. The passenger alerted the driver after spotting vomit on the dead man's clothes. Police discovered an empty syringe in Mr Modzelewski's right hand and a small wrap of what appeared to be heroin. Mr Modzelewski boarded the No36 bus at around 12.29am in Queen's Park, West London, on January 19 this year. The bus's CCTV footage showed him slumping forward 12 minutes later.
The driver thought Mr Modzelewski was asleep and tried to rouse him at the end of the journey at New Cross Gate garage, South London, an inquest heard. Paul Bailey, accident prevention manager for the London Central Bus Company, said: "There was no response and he forgot to tell anyone about the man. The cleaners didn't clean the bus and the driver went home." eeek:

'Well Pastis suggested a new place for our tete a tete and it was dead posh like. Umbrellas in the drinks and everyfink. The menu was on a blackboard, which strcuk me as odd as I am used to them being on plastic cards or in lit up wall boxes like. And they didn't just do burgers and stuff. It was amazing. There were waiters and waitresses too who asked what you wanted instead of saying 'Do you want the meal deal?' It was like being in a film.

Pastis talked a lot and used lots of big words like 'Taramasalata' and 'wheelbarrow'. I got quite flustered and had to keep checking my dictionary under the table. We had some wine. like, quite a lot I think, but I can't quite remember. It was the pink sort. I asked if they had sausages, but it wasn't that kind of place it seems. And the veggies came on little plates by themselves like, which was meant to be posh, but was just a bit of a faff.

I asked for some pudding, but they called it 'dessert' but it was quite nice anyway and not at all fattening angel1 which is why I had two

I got home, um, later. I think. Ooh my head

We met at 12 . Had a few drinks. Had food about 2 ( usual humungous amount redface: ) . Had a few more drinks . Left just after 5 got home by 6.

It was lovely and sunny - Pastis spent most of his time watching the ladees in summer clothing coming in and out of the pub whistle: I did offer to move out of the way if I was blocking his view at any time lol:

FFS ... it was heaving ::). There was some kid of Victorian Fashion show sale going on upstairs ::) and in spite of my thinking that most couples would be on hols with their brats the place was full to the brim. We had to share a table with another couple... noooo:

MissD arrived before me and had allegedly been wielding her axe over several tables inviting them to a swift departure eveilgrin:
She did well; a table by the window with the bloodstains removed by the waitress whistle:

Thinking about it ~ The Lamb used to close at weekends, as did the other good pub in that area The Rugby (just round the corner). No trade when the offices were all shut you see.
