Title: Fathers Day
Post by: Berek on June 17, 2007, 10:56:18 AM
Well, he got me a copy of Hot Fuzz, which I got excited about until I discovered its actually a comedy and not a porn film. A huge Yorkie bar which I have hidden from his mother ( secreted in the garage ), the chocolate that is, not his mother  whistle:

The best gift he has given me however was a kiss and telling me he loved me, which given his mental state is a huge achievement. He normally tells me he hates me and that I should die sooner than later.

I got Fast Food by Gordon Ramsay and the Amy Winehouse LP.  We have just lunched on pan fried king scallops, prawns and a cheeky little salad. Very nice.

Now Young's Ordinary looms.  cloud9:

One little spark like that makes it all worth it. ;D

Children are a real joy about 1% of the time, but that seems to last for the other 99%.

I got a combination of cards, phone calls and "Scottish Wine". eyes:

I have declined the request and now she is looking at me like a whipped dog. I must retire to the pub before the guilt starts getting to me.  noooo:

Telephone call from eldest Daughter (and a card that came yesterday) Cards from the three puppies and two books, breakfast in bed and lots of hugs.  cloud9: S'nice innit!
Not word from Eldest Child but he stopped acknowledging Birthdays, Christmas, Father's Day. Mother's Day et al when we, as parents, stopped doing it for him when he started work 23 years ago. In fact I haven't heard from him at all in getting on for 8 years now.

No decorating or trips to B&Q ~ but a suggestion that we ought to get a man to quote for painting the outside of the house. surrender:

That was my sugestion, but it resulted in one of those withering stares that I'm sure we are all familiar with. On the upside, the pub is fairly quiet, no screaming kids and the free roast spuds are cooked to perfection. The beer is lovely and compliments the fags nicely. Mrs TMR is painting the bathroom and told me to "have a session" and that she will pick me up at closing time. Ain't a bad life really, is it :-)

Not good. Now on my sixth pint, not sure I'll make closing time. But us Surrey boys are troopers, we have stamina!

The amendment you will see I tried and failed to make was an attempt to sort out why your emoticons don't seem to work.
I'm baffled and shall refer it to Admin. When he is sober!!

I'm doing this on a Blackberry - the emoticons don't even appear, so I am improvising. Do not worry!

A tad harsh, Beagle. :-( Tenth pint - bought by the guv'nor - and I'm starting to waver a tad. But I'm a Surrey boy, I shall not falter.

Not harsh at all. I admire the cartoon greatly. It's the first thing I read every morning. lol:

A box of Australian wine, a very nice card, a hug and a kiss, and she has given me 3 grandchildren, each fathers day gets better and better.
