not as bad as this though:

"An OBE goes to Terry Griffiths, the retired Welsh snooker player, who became world champion at his first attempt in 1979. "

In my list of people who deserve recognition Shami certainly would be high on it.

Would you consider me boastful if I told you I turned down the offer?

Thought you would but 'tis true. I would not accept an "honour" from the Blair administration for a King's Ransom was what I told my MP when he was sent to sound me out.~ Apparently someone had put my name forward for "services to the community"

Yeah Yeah ..... I asked for that ~ anyway it was for the last New Years List not the Birthday ones.
Like I said I would not accept anything from Bliar and co.
In fact I would not p*ss in their mouths if their teeth were on fire.

Anyway it's no big deal ~ lots of people feel the way I do about such things. Let's leave it there shall we.  whistle:

The chairman of the board that I am on has just acquired a OBE.

It has been well earned and none of us regard it as in any way political, and I am not jealous.

No, really! I'm not

Honestly!

Why would I be?

Edit:

Oh God!

You can't say anything these days without 'Someone' saying "You got that wrong!"  This is no exception!

A plague on the person (You know who you are) that pointed out it was 'only' an MBE....

And.... There are 2 g's in exaggerate.    evil:

Your turn will come and "Someone" may regret it.

Thanks for the sentiments, but recognition means that I'd have to get off my comfy cushion.

And I quite like it there.

And at least Shami adds a bit of colour to the occasion.
