Title: Brown urged to keep hacker in UK
Post by: Snoopy on December 07, 2008, 09:07:51 AM
Quote
Prime Minister Gordon Brown has been urged to halt the extradition to the US of computer hacker Gary McKinnon.

Mr McKinnon, from Wood Green, north London, faces up to 70 years in prison if found guilty in the US of breaking into military computers.

Supporters held a vigil and delivered a letter to Downing Street calling for him to be tried in the UK instead.

Campaigners said the fact that Mr McKinnon has Asperger's Syndrome should be taken into account.

No, he wouldn't dare defy the 'States...

Not that I think he should be tried and convicted in the UK anyway... let the 'States pay for his keep...

What he did caused no real damage other than to the CIA and FBI's pride.
They thought they were too clever to be hacked ~ he proved different.

As I see it he did nothing worse than listening through the wall to a neighbours arguments.

He is a looney who wanted to see if the Pentagon had any real eveidence about UFOs and Aliens. Hardly breaching their National Security or endangering life. He should be given a medal for showing them they are not as clever as they thought.

Of course he should be kept here, even if he didnt have Aspergers. Yes he broke the law and should pay but he could use his hacking skills to make reparation. How many kiddy fiddler, extremist or criminal resource websites do you think there are on the net?  Have him crack them, download any user data then crash them.
