Title: So where is the second world?

We often hear tell of the "Third World" and of "Western Civilisation" or "The West" and I assume the "Western" implies that we are the "First World" but which countries actually make up the "Second World" ~ ie the bit in the middle?  rubschin:

If it is any help Wiki claims that the expression stems from the Cold War when Western Allies called themselves the First World, The USSR and their allies the Second World and all the rest the Third World but that cannot now apply ~ assuming that Wiki was right in the first place.
